Ning Critical Mass
Today is Ning! critical mass day #1, in which sunbeep and I try to kick this Faust network into life. The problem we've had recently is that we are trying to run a whole series of sites - the main Faust site, the mySpace pages, a flickr account, and so on - when really we should be able to hold everything together in one place and cut out the repetition. maybe Ning! is the place to do that?
I can't imagine the original site disappearing, as it has too much in the way of information, reviews, etc., to be able to port it all successfully here, but if we pull the other stuff together in one placxe it would make life easier for everyone.
I'm hoping too that the forums might replace some of the discussions we have on the faust-list in a way that keeps the information archived and available for all.
Controvesially(?) I've decided to arrange the groups within the site so that only generalist groups (at the moment - Krautrock and Electroacoustic) are featured on the home page. All other groups - currently, those based on actual, er, groups (PermanentFatalError, S/T, Ectogram, Sunseastar) - will be available by using the 'Groups' tab above. These are basically special interest groups that you can join if you are interested in that particular topic... Let's see how that works.
