Holà :)
[myspace really could make one crazy I think. Really hard to stand all of these messages...]
[I hope that the original faust-pages will never disappear! this is the faust-mother-on-line!!!!]
[NING looks like could be a real place to share. Andy: do you know these "guys"? who are they?]
[I think I'd prefer to go there -ning- when I want to share the discussions more than receiving tons of emails everyday. Sometimes it's too much, but never thought to leave the list. Each discussion (and maybe this could makes a kind of natural selection between discussion and...) could be a topic here for example? and anyone could make a choice., and all messages delivered to 'faust-list @ Ning' anyway, maybe more than ever. No more "oh sorry i should be writing 'off-list' maybe?". All the little world around faust *people* here in a network. Any kind of private annoucement 'legitimized'. Sounds interesting and even more enjoyable... to browse! imo]
[Only 1 thing here: I just don t like to get advert for google ads when i open/enter this site]
[but compares to MySpace.............]
[the faust-pages.com CAN'T be, for obvious reasons including physical/nervous/time limits I think, as enjoyable as this COULD be = an excellent reunion of the list + web pages/info/announcements]
let's try and why not! :) ]
[anyway we got faust-pages :) ]
[where's John'O bl##dy hell?!? ]
best O

yeah, mySpace is a royal pain, and pointless too, as far as i can see... just millions of people syaing hello to each other.

the web site should stay, because i can't imagine any way to transfer so much content to another place (it really is huge)

it's hard tio tell what will work for people - with these things you just have to get the ball rolling and see which way it goes...

Oh, more seriously: imo, in this hell of www, this ning place could even give more sense to the mother-site: no discussion: facts, straight information, discography, live,.... like it s always been, but, how to say, so much noise around in the growing-beast-web that a "clean place" (no friends, no stories, only what it s about and managed by THE Project it's entiltled about through a grand Erector) has really a big power now more and more.
[Ahem, wasn t supposed to be a 2 pennies philosophy topic even if sounds like really...]

Well, I just dropped in, and have to drop out again in a moment, but my first impression is positive- quite like the format and the different areas of the site. Cautious thumbs-up from me at this stage.

Well it does look like Ning has all the necessaries... though moving stuff over from the other spaces may be a pain... as in do I have to upload my faust photos again ? Or can they be moved over from Flickr in one fell swoop with everyone else's ? I am looking forward to the day when my inbox gets a little more handleable ... so please yes lets Ning! ;)))

hello :) Flickr: there s a connection between ning and flickr. just trying to make it work. I hope that this could allow to send any flickr photos of any personal account connected to this network as simple as when sending to groups inside flickr. let's see... will re-email later about today hopefully. best [s]

It would be nice if there's a way to organize the photos into sub groups, otherwise they're going to get very unmanageable and messy when a lot have been uploaded. Is this possible?
We could have for example "Faust live", "Schiphorst", "press scans", "list members", "Faust North/South"...etc...

hey alan, you can put them into folders - but i'm not sure how you get them to be presented, eg. on the home page, in folders. Ning! however, does seem to be in an early stage of development and you might expect that to be the sort of thing they will sort out (also - they don't have an easy way of having a shared events calendar for gigs, etc....)
